EVENT RULES

Course and Difficulty

This race is designed as a semi-supported event, emphasizing runner self-reliance. The time between checkpoints can be significant, regardless of the distance. Replenishment of fluids and energy is only available at designated Checkpoints (CP), as there are no aid sources along the mountain trails.

Adherence to the mandatory equipment list and race rules is strictly enforced, and non-compliance may result in disqualification. Random gear checks will be conducted before and during the event at any checkpoint. Failure to possess all mandatory equipment will prevent you from continuing the race. Please dispose of all trash at the checkpoints and refrain from littering on the course.t9rrrr

Safety Guidelines:

Safety is a shared responsibility. To ensure a successful and enjoyable race experience for everyone, and with the hope that all participants become finishers, please note that your safety is directly related to the quality of the equipment you carry in your pack.

Headlamp Requirement

For all distances starting in the dark, there is a simple but crucial rule: wear your headlamp and keep it switched ON from the start line until at least the first checkpoint (cpA). Our reflective course markings are easily visible with a headlamp. Runners not wearing a headlamp will be stopped before entering the trail and may face disqualification.

Important Note:

There are no traffic controls on the event route. Please be aware of your surroundings and any potential hazards.

Please bring your local National Health Insurance (健保卡) card or your travel insurance and passport (for overseas participants). This will help expedite any necessary medical treatment at hospitals without immediate cash payment. While each runner is covered by a personal insurance policy provided by us, which may cover most injuries resulting from external causes, we strongly recommend that overseas participants also have their own comprehensive travel insurance. Please note that no insurance coverage will be valid for pre-existing health conditions such as heart operations, heart diseases, or similar medical issues.

Medical Assistance: First aid posts are located at designated Checkpoints (CP). Medical teams will be on duty during the event.

DNF (Did Not Finish) Policy: It is strictly forbidden to drop out of the race between checkpoints, except in cases of severe injury or illness. If you need to withdraw, you must do so at an official checkpoint and notify the checkpoint staff, who will record your BIB number and collect your timing chip.

Runner Responsibility and Mutual Aid: Your safety depends on the quality of the mandatory equipment you carry. Attention! It is your obligation to assist any fellow runner who is in difficulty.

Emergency Contact Procedures:

If you or another competitor is immobilized or in serious difficulty:

  1. First, call the race organizers:
    • Eva: +886 920-018345
    • Petr: +886 905-120787
    • Provide your location (coordiantes 23.xxxx 121.xxxx) and any identifiable landmarks.
    • Briefly describe the situation.
  2. If you have no mobile network signal:
    • Wait for another runner and try to find an area with network coverage together.
    • Wait for a third runner and ask them to alert the closest race organization member at a checkpoint.
    • Stay with the injured runner until the rescue team arrives.
  3. As a last resort (if unable to contact race organizers), dial emergency services:
    • 119 (Taiwan emergency number)
    • 112 (International emergency number) – may work in areas with limited coverage.

Important Reminders:

  • Assisting a fellow runner in difficulty is an absolute necessity.
  • Expenses incurred due to emergency assistance or evacuation, including return transportation from the rescue location, are the responsibility of the rescued individual.

The following items and behaviors are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate disqualification for all participants:

  • Running with another participant’s BIB or giving your BIB to someone else.
  • Not having free hands (wearing gloves is highly recommended; no carrying bottles or phones in hands).
  • Using trekking poles in the first 5 kilometers of the race.
  • Using trekking poles on climbs without due respect for other runners.
  • Not wearing shoes.
  • Stopping to take photos in narrow trail sections.
  • Intentionally blocking faster runners.
  • Passing front runners without first informing them of your intention.
  • Hats and visors are not recommended due to limited upward vision for spotting branches. A BUFF is a recommended alternative.

Trail running takes us through beautiful natural environments, bringing us into direct contact with local flora and fauna. We ask that you respect and protect these environments. Please do not damage any natural elements such as rocks or trees. It is strictly prohibited to leave any litter on the trails. Any runner caught discarding trash on the course will be immediately disqualified. Please dispose of all waste responsibly at the designated Checkpoints (CP).

In our commitment to environmental sustainability, no cups, bowls, or utensils will be provided either during the event or at the venue. Please ensure you bring your own reusable utensils and bowl for any meals and beverages you consume.

Be Green.
